National Heritage Training Academy

Working in partnership to develop a foundation degree.

Nexus are working with NHTA and key employers to develop a Foundation Degree in the Built Heritage Industry.

The development of a focused employer-led higher education programme is giving employers in the South West heritage sector their voice for the first time on how a higher level educational programme should be shaped.

This is a very exciting and new approach for employers being able to develop bespoke courses suited to the needs of the heritage building industry. The Nexus team is the answer to ensuring a truly employer led higher educational programme. They have a friendly open-minded approach to employers’ needs, are good at communicating, quick to access and interpret the employer needs and language used in built heritage industry. The team have enabled some of the barriers to be brought down about methods of institutional learning by showing that a new and flexible approach to learning can be achieved.

Jane Davis, Director- NHTA South West
