The principal focus of Nexus is to match employers’ needs with the best and most appropriate provision and to strengthen business/HE intersections in the county. Nexus will work with employers to secure a provider of preference.
The Core Partners Include:

The University of Gloucestershire, through its four faculties, offers an array of full time and part time programmes and has recently developed a new flexible qualifications framework called the Gloucestershire Framework. Using this, Nexus can work with employers to develop bespoke programmes. Examples can be seen in Projects.
Businesses and Partnership aspects of the university’s work are coordinated through the Centre for Enterprise and Innovation (CEI) which offers a range of services designed to meet employers’ needs including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, Research and Consultancy services and a programme of Short Courses http://www.glos.ac.uk/forbusiness/Pages/default.aspx
Nexus works closely with faculties and CEI to connect employers with the full range of programmes and services available or works to create new products as required.

Gloucestershire College offers a wide range of education and training programmes, including further education, A Levels and GCSEs, vocational qualifications, work-based learning, basic skills courses, higher education, short courses for business, part-time day and evening courses and English for overseas students. Higher Education provision tends to be highly vocational and they offer foundation degrees validated by their partners, UWE, University of Gloucestershire and University of Worcester and BTEC Higher National Diplomas and Certificates. Additionally, the Business Hub offers a range of bespoke programmes at a range of levels for employees and employers. Nexus works with staff in the college centres and the Hub to create bespoke programmes based on needs identified by employers.

The University of West of England and The Royal Agricultural College are also partner organisations with Nexus and are the preferred delivery providers where capacity and capability do not exist within the core partners. They are the key deliverers of activity in land based construction and engineering related programmes.
